
The famous EUMUNDI MARKETS situated at Eumundi are open every Saturday (6.30am to 2.00pm) and every Wednesday (8.00am to 1.00pm). Allow at least 2 hours to browse around the close to 300 stalls. While there, take a scenic drive around the town. You may prefer to catch a bus to the markets.
Allow a day to do the SCENIC TOUR OF THE HINTERLAND and stroll around the towns of Maleny and Montville. While at Maleny, visit the MARY CAIRNCROSS PARK for wonderful views of the Glasshouse Mountains and walk the rainforest. Montville is well known for its art galleries, craft and gift shops. You will also have spectacular views to the Coast. It is near Maleny that the SEAFOOD TERRACE RESTAURANT can be found. Take a visit to the GINGER FACTORY at Yandina, winner of numerous tourism and retail awards. It is here that you can sample the ginger, browse the varied specialty shops and wander through the gardens.
Take time out to visit UNDERWATER WORLD at
Mooloolaba where an 80 metre moving walkway brings you eye
to eye with sharks and other marine life. Stay and enjoy
the seal show.
For those who enjoy visiting wineries, there are five WINERIES on the Sunshine Coast, namely Noosa Valley Winery, Eumundi Winery, Moonshine Valley Winery, Flaxton Grove Estate and Settlers Rise Winery. If you would prefer a relaxing RIVER/CANAL CRUISE, choose from one of the three Eco cruises available on the Maroochy River or do a cruise of the Mooloolaba canals. The children will enjoy TOP SHOTS ADVENTURE PARK where they can play mini golf, show how they can climb the indoor climbing wall and spray their mates with the Coast's only Blaster Boats. For the fishing/water sport enthusiast, SWAN BOAT HIRE in Maroochydore has for hire boats, runabouts, canoes, kayaks and paddle skis as well as crab pots, fishing lines and all else required for a spot of fishing/crabbing. For those who enjoy DEEP SEA FISHING, there are excellent charters, be it for half or full day trips, from Mooloolaba. This company can be recommended. They also operate WHALE WATCHING and also DEEP SEA DIVING trips. See reception for further information and also bookings. There is, of course, the full day 4 x 4 tours of FRASER ISLAND. Once again, we can arrange your trip for you. You will be collected 'at the door'. AUSTRALIA ZOO is open 7 days a week and has a huge display of snakes and reptiles, together with other animals. A free bus runs from in front of the Maroochydore RSL. Again, reception can organize your trip for you. Maroochydore has a bowling club, golf club and tennis courts should you wish to join in any of these activities. A ten minute drive will take you to the famous Twin Waters Golf Club, Don't forget to take a trip to Noosa and stroll down Hastings Street, and to Mooloolaba to join the café set and then down to Caloundra. You can leave your car behind and take the bus if you so desire. The GLASSHOUSE MOUNTAINS is a paradise for birdwatchers with the area hosting many varieties. Should you be driving or walking through this area, keep an eye out (or ear open) for a wide variety of plants and animals, some unique to this area. For those interested in climbing, Mt Beerburrum has a sealed track to the top; Mt Ngungun provides a reasonably easy climb for most people. Mt Beerwah and Mt Tibrogargan are only for the fit and experienced climbers. Should you desire to tackle any of these mountains, please advise us of your destination and estimated time of return. RESTAURANTS There are many excellent restaurants nearby. Restaurants that come highly recommended are just a 5 minute stroll from the complex. It is wise to make bookings first, particularly for THE BOATSHED, located around the corner on the Cotton Tree Beach (can be seen from the balconies) and LEFTIES, located in the next block along Duporth Avenue. BICA, a coffee shop in Ocean Street, (just around the corner from the complex) has excellent restaurant quality meals at a reasonable price. Another restaurant well worth trying is HARRY'S ON BUDERIM. It is also wise to make a booking for this restaurant. For restaurants a little further afield, there is a stand in reception with their cards.
For those interested in Thai cooking, visit
the well known SPIRIT HOUSE at Yandina. Bookings are essential
for lunch or dinner. It is very difficult to get into the
cooking school at short notice.
The MAROOCHYDORE RSL, located one block away, is available to all visitors for meals and entertainment. The MAROOCHYDORE SURF LIFESAVING CLUB also provides meals and entertainment should you wish to venture there. If time permits while in the hinterland, reserve a table at the SEAFOOD TERRACE RESTAURANT and feast on succulent seafood. This restaurant is near Maleny. A service for takeaway meals delivered to the door is provided by CAFE ON WHEELS. A menu is available in your apartment.
